With the emergence of SaaS business intelligence as a powerful on-demand solution for business intelligence needs, it only makes sense for our mid-size firm to look into its advantages for our business. Recently, I was given the task to evaluate a few different SaaS BI vendors in hopes of finding one that has a great set of reporting tools and customizabledashboards that we can use to enhance our decision making processes. During our search, we came across a few different vendors but none stood out in terms of having a complete SaaS solution like Actuate BIRT onDemand.

I downloaded the 5 license trial version of the software and began testing it the same day. I was able to create 10 reports very quickly and easily. If I come across a question or problem, I just visit their Birt-Exchange forum and other open source developers are quick to help. I still plan on evaluating the other BI vendors software within the marketplace before making any final decision but BIRT onDemand is definitely in the running as a top choice for software-as-a-service BI solution for our company.
